BIIAB Training Courses
Arrochar Associates is an accredited BIIAB centre providing BIIAB Training Courses for all BIIAB qualifications in England and Wales.
BIIAB Training Courses can be held either at the clients' own venue or alternatively in one of our own approved venues.

BIIAB Level 1 Essentials in Catering Award (ECA)
The BIIAB ECA provides information and practical advice about the fundamental activities, processes and procedures needed by anyone new to working in a commercial kitchen environment.
BIIAB Level 2 National Certificate for Personal Licence Holders - NCPLH
BIIAB Level 2 National Certificate for Personal Licence Holders is a nationally recognised qualification for anyone wishing to apply for a personal licence.
- One day course with the multiple choice exam at the end of the day
- Results are available within 24 – 48 hours
- The certificate takes 10-14 days to arrive, on successful completion
- Covers all aspects of the law and social responsibilities in relation to the sale of alcohol to the public
BIIAB Level 2 Scottish Certificate for Personal Licence Holders - SCPLH
The Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005 states that anyone who authorises the sale of alcohol to the public must hold a personal licence. If you wish to obtain a personal licence you need to apply to your local licensing board. You will be asked for a number of things to support your application. These include proof that you hold a licensing qualification such as the BIIAB SCPLH.

BIIAB Level 2 Introduction to Licensed Retail Operations - ILRO
- Developed to provide those new to running, or looking to run, licensed retail premises
- Overview of the areas of management responsibility that are essential to run a business successfully

- The course content is covered over five or more days of training
BIIAB Level 2 National Certificate in Licenced Retailing - NCLR
- Designed to cover all the subject areas that personal licence holders, designated premises supervisors, premises licence holders and management need to be aware of when running licensed premises
- Unit 1 covers the BIIAB Level 2 NCPLH
- Unit 2 consists of the BIIAB Introduction to Licensed Retail Operations
- Five or more days of training

BIIAB Level 2 National Certificate for Licence Practitioners - NCLP
- the duties of a licensing authority
- applications and determination of a licence being granted
- hearing and appeal processes and procedures
- the duties of applicants
- the powers and rights of the relevant authorities to inspect licensed premises
BIIAB Level 2 Award in Assessment of Licensed Premises (Social Responsibility) – AALP(SR)
- The BIIAB AALP(SR) has been developed in conjunction with Best Bar None with the aim of providing a universal hallmark of predetermined quality of the assessment approach to recognised award schemes across the country
- The AALP(SR) is designed for prospective, recognised award scheme assessors from, for example, police forces, local authorities, Trading Standards and the Fire Service
- Designed to be delivered over two days
- AALP(SR) covers three key subject areas:
- Principles of Assessment,
- Legislative Requirements of Licensed Premises
- Assessing Recognised Award Schemes
- The AALP (SR) is a multiple choice exam split into 2 units. Candidates must pass both units to achieve the qualification
BIIAB National Certificate for Designated Premises Supervisors - NCDPS
- Provides designated premises supervisors with an understanding of their role and responsibilities in relation to the Licensing Act 2003, together with other regulatory issues, in addition to those contained in the Act
- Addresses the practical day-to-day issues involved in running a licensed premise.
BIIAB Level 2 National Certificate for Door Supervisors - NCDS
The BIIAB Level 2 NCDS is such a recognised qualification and consists of two units:
- Unit 1 - Roles and Responsibilities of Door Supervisor- Including how to comply with the law, admission policies and procedures, refusing entry, searching, seizing articles, eviction, use of force, how to deal with emergencies, drugs, arrest, scene preservation and report writing
- Unit 2 - Conflict Management for Door Supervisors - Takes candidates through managing conflict by applying dynamic risk assessment approaches, understanding the importance of self-awareness and acting proactively; how to resolve and learn from conflict
- Designed for those who wish to work in the industry
- Awarded to those who pass two examinations covering the basic knowledge and responsibilities of the occupation
- Nationally recognised qualification is the industry standard
- Enables a door supervisor to apply for a licence to practice
BIIAB National Certificate for Licensees (Drug Awareness) - NCL(DA)
- Designed to give premises licence holders and managers, of licensed premises in England and Wales, a basic knowledge and understanding of the law pertaining to the misuse and supply of controlled drugs on licensed premises
- Gives operational guidelines to help deal effectively with and prevent any drug related problems in their premises
BIIAB Award in Responsible Alcohol Retailing - ARAR
- Provides essential knowledge and understanding of the responsibilities of alcohol retailers authorised by a personal licence holder to sell alcohol
- Enables those who complete the qualification to act within the law and to support the designated premises supervisor to retail alcohol responsibly on their licensed premises
